New Construction Landscape Crew Leader

The primary responsibility of the Landscape Crew Leader is to assist with tracking the team's beautification of a roadway project in which plants of varying types will be installed. The Landscape Crew Leader will install trees, flowers, shrubs and ground cover according to overall design, utilizing best horticultural practices. Landscape Crew Leaders are responsible for adhering to the safety plan at all times and maintaining a professional image at all times.

• Prepares report of the team's production
• Performs installation of trees and plants with a team of 3-4 co-workers.
• Motivate team to maximize production
• Ability to understand English to follow directions and communicate on a base level with supervisors and co-workers.
• Thinks ahead and completes tasks efficiently and safely.
• Able to perform manual labor with a shovel or rake or other hand tools.
• Able to operate a front end loader, skid steer or excavator.
• Maintains constant safety awareness and brings any unsafe situation to the attention of Supervisors.

Qualified candidates will be trained on planting procedures and safety.

Preferred candidates will have a minimum of two years of field experience in new construction landscape installation, a working knowledge of landscape equipment, and experience with working as a team. A minimum of 1 year supervisory duties is required.

Experience with tree and shrub plans, fertilizing, tree staking, palm staking and landscape bed layout and mulching a PLUS.

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, reaching, climbing and lifting for prolonged periods of time, lifting and carrying 50 pounds, and working with hand tools, power tools, and other hand tools.
